Ricardo Arjona at The Joint – Las Vegas

•September 14, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Tonight I photographed Ricardo Arjona… he performed at The Joint inside The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. He’s Guatemalan and since I’m Guatemalan too I wanted to “support” my fellow Guatemalteco. And I’m really glad I got in! His show was amazing! His set was very elaborate and his voice… oh his voice! So romantic! Here are just a few shots from his show… I’ve got more but these are the only ones I’m posting on my blog. If you want to see them all, please visit www.iphotolive.com… thanks!

Bow Wow performed at PURE Nightclub

•September 13, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Yesterday I shot Bow Wow’s performance inside PURE nightclub.  It was my first time shooting the main the stage but it was pretty cool.  I wish there would’ve been more lights to really give that “concert” vibe but I guess it really wasn’t a concert.  Either way, it was fun!  He seems like a really cool guy and even offered to give drinks to anyone and everyone that went to the VIP area where he was… he said… I know we’re in a recession but I still want you to get drunk… or something like that… And the crowd went WILD!  I mean, they were already screaming when got there but I think that just made everyone’s night.  I didn’t stick around to see if he followed through but I’m going to assume so… if not, he’d have a club full of people mad at him!  Here are some pictures of the performance… and as always, please visit www.iphotolive.com to see/purchase them… thanks! :)

Love is in the air!

Today I had the pleasure of photographing Michael and Angela’s wedding day at Silverstone Golf Club’s Club House.  They were both such beautiful people, both inside and out.  It was really fun getting to know them as the night progressed.  I have so many great pictures from tonight that I had the hardest time picking the ones I really liked because I really liked all of them! Haha… well, I couldn’t help myself but to put my top 7 up.  Please tell me what you think!  This is the first wedding that I’ve in over a year so your thoughts will really help me a lot.  Thanks!

Paris Hilton arrives to Maxim’s Hometown Hotties event at Wasted Space

•September 2, 2009 • 1 Comment

This past weekend I got a hot tip that Paris Hilton was going to make a surprise appearance at Wasted Space for Maxim’s Hometown Hotties… I went not really sure if it was true or not because I was not going to give up the chance to photograph Paris!  So lucky for me, the tip was true!  I have to say though, this was the first carpet that I’ve ever covered with her that she seemed rushed in.  Usually, she takes her time walking down the carpet but this time… she just went posed and left.  Granted, there were only like four of us there… either way, she looked beautiful as always.  You know, say what you want about her, but that is a smart girl right there.  She knows exactly what she’s doing and how to work.  So kudos to you Paris!

Amber Rose at Tao Beach

This weekend I also covered Amber Rose’s red carpet at Tao Beach.  And you know, I wasn’t very excited about it.  I’ve seen a few pictures of her here and there and I wasn’t impressed.  Well, after seeing her in person… that has ALL changed.  She is gorgeous!  I mean absolutely beautiful!  Her pictures do her no justice.  She’s got this beautiful essence about her that you just have to experience.  Not many people can captivate you the way she did.  I mean it… the girl is breath taking.  Even with her crazy contacts she looked beautiful… lol.  Kanye West is a very lucky man.

Jon Gosselin at Wet Republic?

•September 2, 2009 • 2 Comments

So this one surprised me a bit… Jon Gosselin, from Jon and Kate Plus 8, had a red carpet (or should I say blue carpet) this Saturday at Wet Republic.  I don’t know how I feel about it… to be honest with you, I am not a fan of his.  I used to be though, before all the drama.  I don’t know, I think he’s become douchie (I’m sorry if I’ve offended you with that word, I just can’t think of another one that describes him).  Yes he’s young BUT he has 8 kids!  Whether or not you were ready for them buddy, you got them!  I just don’t understand… he says “oh yeah, I’m doing this for my kids… blah blah… everything is for my kids…”  but ummm, a father who does anything for his kids would not have bought an apartment in NYC when his kids live in PA!  That’s at the very least, a few hours away.  Wouldn’t you want to be near your kids, you know, if you’re all about them?!  And how is parading around with all sorts of women for your kids?!  I’m sorry, but that’s not for your children… that’s purely for you.  And I don’t have a problem with you doing things for yourself… I just have a problem with you being douchie about it.  Anyway, enough about that… here are a few pictures from his carpet.  I couldn’t help myself but to notice his feet… eeww Jon!  If you’re going to do a carpet event and wear flip flops make sure you get a pedicure!!!

Jason Priestley turns 40!

Hello all… I know I’m a bit late but better late than never, right?  This past weekend I covered Jason Priestley’s 40th birthday party at Tabu Ultra Lounge inside the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino here in Las Vegas.  And what can I say?  He still got it!  Mr. Priestley was looking very sexy, very distinguished and what some might call, Silver Foxy.  He was joined by his family and friends… I believe he flew out 40 people in total (or at least I think I read that somewhere).  I can say though, I did see a lot of people there… one in particular being his mother.  And can I just say, what a cutie!  I don’t know how many of you remember the movie The Wedding Singer with Adam Sandler, but there is a character in the movie (played by Ellen Albertini Dow) that sings Rapper’s Delight by Sugarhill Gang.  She is this cute little old lady that you would not expect to be singing that song and she does this little side to side dance as well… it’s very cute.  Anyway, that’s who I instantly thought of when I saw his mother.  She was sooo cute and little!  And, when I was inside (right before they brought out his birthday cake) I could see her doing the little dance!  It was so cute I just wanted to hug her.  Anyway… here are few pictures from his birthday… enjoy!

DJ AM Dead?!

Wow… I can’t believe he’s gone!  Even though I never knew him personally… I always had a weird little connection with him because he was the first picture I ever had published.  And now he’s gone.  It’s very bizarre because all the celebrities that have passed away in the last few months, I’ve seen on TV or heard of but never saw them in person… but I have seen Adam Goldstein… on several occasions.  *sigh* Rest in Peace DJ AM… you will be missed!

Rumer Willis turns 21 in Vegas!

•August 16, 2009 • 1 Comment

So tonight I had the pleasure of covering Rumer Willis’ bday carpet at TAO inside the Venetian here in Las Vegas.  I gotta say, I was a little disappointed that Bruce Willis, Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher didn’t walk… but, the girls from her movie did and so did the hottie boy, Julian Morris.  For those of you who don’t know, Rumer Willis is in the new movie Sorority Row along with Audrina Patridge, Jamie Chung, Briana Evigan, and Margo Harshman to name a few.  Here are some of the pictures from the carpet… if you would like to see them all, please visit www.iphotolive.com and search for Karla Rodas… thanks!

Hello everyone!  Gosh… it feels like forever since I’ve last blogged!  And so much has happened since!  Well, for starts I’m back from Hawaii.  It was so amazing!  Even more amazing than the last time… I wish I could live there and I think eventually one day, we will!

I don’t really have time t blog right now about everything that I want to blog about so I’ll just leave you right now with two of my favorite shots from our vacation.  First, is a picture of Waikiki Beach during sundown and second is a picture of a little waterfall we saw on the side of the road in Kauai.  Both are long exposures and I’m really happy with them.  Please take a look at them and as always, give  me your opinions.  I’d love to hear your thoughts on them.

Thanks!
