VCP Creations was founded on August 2004 and is owned and operated by freelance photographer and videographer, Karla Rodas. Karla has a degree in film from William Paterson University and has worked with the New York International Latino Film Festival, SONGS FROM COCONUT HILL a Latino Playwrights Festival and Diamante Pictures. Most recently, Karla was the videographer for Boost Mobile’s Pro-Am Challenge Video Gaming Tournament in Las Vegas, NV and is currently a photographer with iPhoto Live Inc., a premiere digital photography and distribution agency where she covers red carpet events and has shot A-list celebrities such as Paris Hilton, Shakira, Pamela Anderson and Bruce Willis, among many others.

When describing her gift as a photographer, Karla states, “When it comes to photography, my approach is simple… less is more. In other words, I make my work seem effortlessly simple and beautiful. My goal is to capture not only the beauty of the subject being shot, but the emotion that drives the shoot. When I do a shoot, I connect with my subject, whether it’s an inanimate object or a person, and that connection comes through in my work. When you look at my photographs, I want you to feel them… not just see them.”

At the tender age of 8, Karla began her love affair with the camera. A gift from her older sister, her first camera was a Mickey-Matic110 with flip-flash. She drove her family and friends crazy with her constant flashing. Seeing a whole new world through a new set of lenses allowed her the ability to not only chronicle her life, but also capture her family and friend’s most candid moments without any warning. “I know that this camera is the reason I love all mediums of film so much and the reason I can shoot the way I do.”

Karla’s distinct ability to look through the lens, and look beyond the surface to understand her subject deeply is one of the reasons her photographs materialize so flawlessly. Karla sees the world in a way only an artist can. Her eyes are constantly looking for the perfect shot, for a way to show everyone the beauty around us and the possibilities every moment can bring. This in-depth ability to see the world is what allows Karla to be fluid in her photography style and really capture the essence of candid moments.
